Dominique Prins Ciccoli

Born in Saint Raphael, France in 1963.
Living in Huizen,The Netherlands since 1988. Autodidact.

Art has always been my passion. I have made many pen drawings, numerous oil paintings as well as aquarelles but remained interested in new ways of expression. When I started to work with clay and later on with French chalk, I found that sculpture is my most natural and fulfilling means of expression.

Within a relatively short period I developed my own style and since 2001, I'm participating in various expositions in galleries et ArtFair . Since 2003, I have been teaching modeling and sculpture in my own atelier.

The main theme of my inspiration is "the woman"; she is the inexhaustible source of countless symbols. I work with this symbol, without model or picture, using pure simplicity and exaggeration, which may seem contradictory. I am reaching towards the extreme borders of aestheticism without however compromising harmony and elegance, which makes the subject even more powerful.

I've wone the first price of the 'Concours de sculpture 2010 de la ville du Lavandou' in France with the statue "Darianne.
